WET BURRITOS RECIPE

This Wet Burritos recipe has a ground beef and refried bean filling wrapped in a large tortilla smothered with red sauce and melted cheese. Top with your favorites such as guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, onion, and tomatoes.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4.5 oz diced green chile peppers
16 oz refried beans
8 oz tomato sauce
10 oz enchilada sauce
15 oz chili no-beans (Hormel)
6 flour burrito tortillas (about 12 inches)
2 cups shredded lettuce
3 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
Chopped green onions (for garnish)
Any additional desired toppings

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it's no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.

3. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are soft.

4. Stir in the diced green chile peppers, refried beans, tomato sauce, and enchilada sauce. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. Add the chili no-beans to the skillet and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until everything is heated through.

6. Spoon about 1/2 cup of the beef and bean mixture onto each tortilla, spreading it out in a line down the center.

7. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of shredded lettuce and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese over the beef mixture on each tortilla.

8. Roll up the tortillas, folding in the sides as you go, to form burritos. Place them seam-side down in a 9x13-inch baking dish.

9. Pour any remaining beef and bean mixture over the burritos in the baking dish.

10. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the top of the burritos.

11. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

12. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

13. Remove from the oven and let the burritos cool for a few minutes.

14. Serve the wet burritos topped with chopped green onions and any additional desired toppings, such as guacamole, sour cream, chopped lettuce, onion, and tomatoes. Enjoy!
