Creamy Company Chicken Casserole

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup crushed Ritz crackers
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup melted butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: chopped parsley for garnish 
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a casserole dish and place the chicken breasts in it.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until smooth.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then pour the soup mixture over them, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the soup mixture.
In another bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter until well combined.
Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the cheese layer.
Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the top is golden brown.
Optional: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
